Bent Stick is a do-it-yourself nanobrewery in Edmonton, Alberta started by brewers, four brewers to be exact. They like beer a lot and brew a very rotational lineup of whatever they want up to 400 litres at a time!
B.S. Wit (473ml) is a cloudy wheat beer that focuses on belgian yeast character. Unlike many modern bastardized versions of the style, B.S. Wit is balanced with just enough coriander and citrus peel to give a subtle tart “hey, how are ya”. All the refreshing flavour you need, without the personified fruit slices.
Electric Boogaloo (473ml) is the that helped turn our nanobrewery into a real business! People drank so much that we scaled it up and put it in cans. You’ve done this to yourselves. It’s got a bunch of oats and wheat for that hazy softness you like, as well as a gluttonous helping of Citra, Mosaic, and Ella for that big fruity hop flavour. The double dry hop also means the tank has always been a big sloppy green bastard to clean, but it’s worth it! Just barely worth it…
Uff-Da Kveik (473ml) Norwegian Farmhouse Ale: In trying to imitate his traditional process, we mashed each batch for 3 hours, boiled for 4, and fermented with the customary warm fermenting kveik yeast strain. The resulting beer is light in colour and has tasty complex notes of ripe red fruit, pear, hints of orange, and a rustic earthy finish. Skal!
Four Thirty PM Stout (473ml) is a 4.5% stout flavoured stout if we've ever had one. Our Canadian winters will have things getting dark about 4:30pm and sometimes you want a beer but still have things to do. Four Thirty was made for just that. Chocolate, coffee and biscuit flavours balances with that touch of bitterness for a beer you can have one....or two at 430pm because hey, it's dark out. But it's still early.
