• Desi Chickpea: Desi Chickpeas are smaller than the Kabuli Chickpeas and have a thick dark seed coat. They have a high fiber content and are used in many dishes or ground into flour. We grow our Desi Chickpeas as an intercrop with Flax. Growing these two crops together allows them to share nutrients, reduce disease pressure for the plants and improve soil health.

  Hulless Oats: We grow a unique variety of oat that is hulless. This means that the oats do not have a hull when they are harvested, so they are ready to eat without being processed. Oats can be sprouted, rolled, cooked, or milled into flour. They contain a large amount of fiber and have a high concentration of well-balanced protein. The oats have a beautiful root structure that promotes soil health!

  Khorasan: Khorasan is an ancient grain. We love to grow Khorasan because it produces a high-quality wheat with no large amounts of synthetic fertilizer needed. The uses of Khorasan are like that of our modern-day durum. When ground into flour, our Khorasan wheat can make delicious pasta!

  Spelt: Spelt is an ancient grain that we started growing in 2018. Spelt is known for its health benefits and mellow nutty flavor. We love how the spelt has ignited the life in our soils. Its robust rooting system feeds our soil microbes, which makes our soil more resilient! We like to cook spelt as a rice substitute or grind and use the flour for baking.

  Buckwheat: Buckwheat is one of the most beautiful crops we grow, as it has white blossoms for many weeks.  These flowers attract insects and wildlife, and our buckwheat field buzzes with the sound of life.  Buckwheat is not a wheat, but is known as a pseudo-cereal because its seeds are used in many of the same ways as cereal grains.
