Ceramic Mug

I am an artist. I use pottery as my vehicle because it is financially accessible to a much larger group of folks than traditional visual art objects, it serves a specific ritual function and generally gets lots of use. I believe in the weirdly wonderful and the one-of-a-kind as a quiet act of revolt against mass-production, "content" creation, and the creative flattening of our late-capitalist, google-dominated culture. I believe little things--particularly things that are silly, tactile, evocative of a moment or a story, maybe not quite perfect and not-quite reproducible, are talismans for our beautiful and irreplaceable world.
